Meh.

It's a day.  Nothing special.  I think that if there's someone special in your life, it shouldn't take the combined might of the economic machine to get you to show them how much you appreciate and cherish them. 
So, don't show love or affection just because you feel obligated, but do it because it's the right thing to do, any day of the year.  And on the flip side, don't be disappointed if you don't get some extravagant gesture on a certain day mandated by the calendar.  If you have someone special in your life, don't put inordinate pressure on them, okay?  If you're unattached, then be your own "Valentine", and don't pressure yourself, either!!

Off to try and practice what I'm preaching....doesn't always help with the lonelies, but I'm trying.
